This is probably the major reason why I don't get invited to weddings and festivities. My good wishes always come out so... cynical :cry: This is a piece dedicated to Kitala as her long LONG waited birthday request illustration. I'm finishing it up digitally so if you haven't received yours yet, I'm working on them!!

The theme was "Year of the Snake" and I didn't want to do an anthro or traditional zodiac related pic so here it is! :D
I'm sure you didn't expect this!! The oversized snake is an albino East African Green Mamba (the real ones are green and only about 5 to 8 ft) and yes, those are opium poppies :evillaugh: It's SUPPOSED to mean life is full of obstacles and you are thrown in it, so might as well enjoy it to the fullest HAPPY BIRTHDAY :sarcasm: ...yea you don't want me at your parties (goes to the corner of the room)

YAY, creativity! I have no idea what I would've done if I got the same prompt, probably just go with the zodiac...<__< But ye, you went above and beyond and tried to express the theme in entirely different ways, love that the snake is actually referenced and just just...a snake. o.o

I don't know why but after reading your description I felt the urge to go lookup floral messages. Apperently Red poppies = pleasure. :0 Mmmmmm, jumping feet first into a new year is pleasureable?

The thing I love most about this though is the motion in the guy & his swing. I haven't actually swung on a swing or really get to anymore, but I can say that looking at this I'm reminded of the times when I'm swinging back and forth and the strange yet fun feeling you get in your stomach when you start leaping off the swing...suddenly I feel nostalgic. *__*

Mmm, I think there's really only one thing that can be improved on, and that would be the background towards the top. It kind of throws off the composition, or rather I fell that it could be better. Maybe putting in another flower? Or some graphic designs like textures/patters? And what about words? :d

The theme is common, but the way you turned it out is awsome >w<.
I love the color (as always) it was a wise election (as always).
